Termites

Also known as white ants, termites have a voracious appetite for the cellulose found in wood and cotton, making practically any structure and building potential targets for termite attacks. Highly social insects, they live in large groups referred to as colonies.

These silent destroyers may be wreaking havoc within your walls, ceilings or underneath your floorboards without any visible signs of damage to the naked eye. Depending on the species, termites may build their nests underground, within trees branches/large pieces of wood or even mounds above ground.

 Risks

  • Cause considerable damage to buildings and furniture, which may involve significant amounts of money in repair fees
  • Safety hazard due to compromised structural integrity
